WHAT IS CAMP ALIVE?

Camp Alive is an extension of the Alive Music Festival and the NextGen outreach program, created to equip the next generation with a strong biblical foundation while making learning about Jesus exciting and interactive.

Designed for Pre-K through 5th-grade students, Camp Alive combines Bible stories, Scripture memory, life application, and interactive games—all designed to teach kids essential life lessons while deepening their faith.

Through Camp Alive, children will:

  • Build a strong foundation in God’s Word
  • Engage in fun, high-energy activities that reinforce biblical truths
  • Grow deeper in their knowledge and love for Jesus
  • Participate in missions and life applications that strengthen their faith

CAMP ALIVE QUICK DETAILS

Dates: Thursday, July 17 – Saturday, July 19

Time: Check-in starts at 8:30am – Check-out at 11:15am

Location: Atwood Lake Activity Center (MAP)

CHECK-IN & CHECK OUT

With our computerized check-in/check-out system, parents or guardians will check children in at the Camp Alive check-in kiosks each day upon arrival at Camp Alive. When families arrive and sign-in they will receive two stickers: one for the guardian responsible and one for the child. Stickers will have alpha-numeric codes, which will be used for matching during the secure check-out process.

  • Camp Alive is eager to begin checking children in 30 minutes prior to the start of Camp Alive activities!
  • Any person dropping off or picking up a child must be at least 16 years of age.
  • To ensure a safe and secure pick-up, students will not be permitted to leave with anyone unless that person has the sticker that corresponds with the student’s alpha-numeric code on his/her sticker.

CAMP LEADERS

Only adults who have been background checked and selected for Camp Alive are allowed inside the classroom. This ensures the safety of every child and minimizes classroom disruptions. Parents are not allowed inside the classroom areas, unless authorized by a staff member.

AGE-APPROPRIATE ROOMS

Camp Alive believes in and works diligently to provide Christ-centered, high-interest and age-appropriate experiences. In doing so, Camp Alive greatly considers the developmental needs of each child. Children attending Camp Alive will be placed with age-like peers in order to provide a safe and engaging experience, deepen their understanding of Christ and make memories that last a lifetime!

BRIDGE BUILDERS

Camp Alive deeply values all of God’s children. It is with pride that Camp Alive strives to provide an enjoyable experience for each child that attends our camp. One way that Camp Alive strives to do this is providing Bridge Builder volunteers who specialize in providing support to campers in need. Camp Alive will happily provide support immediately upon arrival or as needed. Parents will be provided the opportunity to share about any specific needs of their child during registration.

CHILD ALLERGY/MEDICAL CONCERNS

In order to best care for all campers, Camp Alive asks that parents/guardians provide all allergies/medical concerns upon registration of your child. If a child has an allergy, dietary restriction or special medical concern campers will be identified by an orange dot located on their name tag along with a description of the child’s allergy or dietary restriction along the bottom of the tag.

WELLNESS OF CHILDREN

To ensure the health of the other children and Camp Alive Staff, we ask that sick children not attend Camp Alive. It is recommended that a child does not attend when any of the following symptoms are present:

  • A fever of 99 degrees or higher
  • Diarrhea or vomiting— no matter what the cause (i.e., medication , teething, etc.)
  • Common cold (from onset through one week)
  • Any symptom of childhood diseases such as Scarlet Fever, German Measles, Mumps, Chicken Pox, or Whooping Cough
  • Sore throat, constant cough, or croup
  • Colored mucus (runny nose that is not clear; in the eyes)
  • Any unexplained rash
  • Any skin infection: boils, ringworm, impetigo, or any open sores that leak fluid/blood
  • Pinkeye, redness of the eyes, or any other eye infection
  • Any communicable disease
  • Lice— including the presence of eggs or nits

DISCIPLINE

It is the heart of Camp Alive to make every effort possible to ensure the safety and well-being of every child and volunteer that is under our care. There may be instances where some children have a difficult time adjusting to a classroom environment.

When experiencing undesirable behavior, Camp Alive leaders will guide and redirect students as needed to achieve positive/desirable behaviors. This includes noting the behavior which needs to change and making positive verbal corrections until desirable behavior is displayed. Positive affirmation and encouragement is given when the child exhibits expected behavior. We avoid using words or tones of voice that may frighten a child or may make them feel shameful. While in our care, we will never send a child to the corner, place them in time-out, or physically discipline — spanking or hand popping, etc. If children continue to disobey or act in a way that may cause harm to themselves or others Camp Alive reserves the right to contact parents and excuse them from activities. Please note that any instances of “foul language” or physical altercations with other children or leaders, will result in us immediately contacting parents to pick up the child.

RESTROOM PROTOCOL

Anytime a child is taken to a restroom outside of their classroom, the child will be accompanied by two volunteers. When a child is using the restroom, we will leave the door cracked. If a child needs assistance in the bathroom, we will make sure any assistance is visible to both adults in the bathroom. Only female team members can assist a child in the restroom.

CONTACTING PARENTS

Sometimes new places, faces and experiences can be overwhelming to young children! In the best interest of your child, if he or she is crying and does not calm down after 10 minutes, we will contact the parent/guardian for support/removal.

LEADER APPLICATION PROCESS

Because we love children and desire to protect them, Alive requires all leaders working with children to complete the following leader application steps:

1. Application

All Camp Alive volunteers must complete an online Application.

2. Reference Check

All volunteers must be referred by an approved church leader that is aligned with Alive’s faith and values prior to serving at Camp Alive.

3. Policies & Procedures

All Camp Alive volunteers are required to review Camp Alive policies and confirm they understand and agree to comply with Camp Alive requirements.

4. Criminal History Check

Camp Alive utilizes the services of a reputable public data screening firm in order to check the background of all volunteers and employees for possible criminal history and/or registered sex offender information.

Individuals who have been arrested for, charged with, are on deferred adjudication or regular probation for, or have been convicted of sexually oriented or sex related crimes, either misdemeanor or felony, cannot serve at Camp Alive.

REGISTRATION IS NOW FULL!

Due to an overwhelming response to Camp Alive, we have met capacity and are not able to accept additional registrations.
